In recent years, much of Eugene 's "outside" activity has been based at the farm of a friend of ours, at a secret location in Sussex .
Eugene managed to acquire a Hyundai Stellar, which really was the least stellar vehicle you have ever seen. However, to be fair, it was indestructible!
We spent most of the summer of 2003 "ragging" it around a race track we made across a couple of fields, and the car, despite driving through dust clouds (this was the summer with record breaking temperatures) and running with the temperature in the red all the time, it survived everything we threw at it (we never quite managed to roll it). It even went mountain climbing up a pile of rubble in the farm yard! Sadly the Stellar had to be sent away in 2004. We miss the Stellar.
Eugene also has had an obsession in the last year with generators and is now building up quite a collection. If Armageddon should ever strike, Eugene will be there with his Briggs and Stratton!
Other strange obsessions of Eugene's include John Cleese, the Airplane films (Eugene phrase: "when <insert name here> finds out about this, the s**t will really hit the fan"), Japanese cars ("should have bought Japanese"), people watching, remembering any odd event, fluorescent lights, high pressure sodium lights, fire extinguishers, BBQ's, gas bottles, agricultural machinery, forgetting people's names and many other things, too numerous to list.
