BB8: Week 4

Week 4.

Jonathan, who was the new guy has now well settled in along with the Billi, Brian and especially Liam who now has gained £100,000 after Seany, Carole and Jonathan, who were up for eviction were summoned to the Diary Room. With one minute thinking time, they had to unanimously decide which housemate would receive £100,000. They managed to decide on new-boy Liam – who, to be honest, seems probably one of the better ones to give it to – imagine if It were Charley!

The problem for Liam is that the housemates think all the money is gone, and some are now trying to take sides to Liam from a manipulative point of view. One of these girls is Charley who, was sucking up to him immediately.

Earlier in the week, the nominations were put forward including Carole because she was moaning too much, but I think she was in the right, especially with housemates taking her washing. It is obvious who’s towel s whose and the less talented housemates just take any one. Carole is only trying to keep the house in good condition.

Seany, on the other hand, was put up for eviction because of his general attitude – non-respect for others and his practical jokes.  He did go too far when he removed Lesley’s covers causing her to leave, but amusingly, he did put wet paper into Charley’s boots causing her to go off on one about how they were expensive and how unfair it was. Actually, it was hilarious.

After Jonathan nominated, he commented about how he "arrogantly" knows the people better in the house better than themselves.

Charley actually liked this comment, so did I!

The task this week was to swim the English channel by swimming several thousand lengths of the swimming pool while 2 other housemates are sitting in a boat. While many housemates contributed without hassle, after a comment by Jonathan about the number (or lack) of lengths swam by Chanelle, she went off about how the water was freezing and how unfair it was to comment.

Ultimately, I have sat in a bath of Ice and water, and I can say the water in the pool would NOT have been freezing.

Since his £100,000, Liam has been getting closer to Nikki, until Nikki has started being too close which has driven him away – no guesses what she is after.  Ziggy and Jonathan both noted this. Ziggy also decided to get back with Chanelle after a spate of arguments – which is no surprise as let’s face it, Chanelle really is always complaining. Especially after the Swimming task. Of course this was not to laugh and he started contemplating splitting up with her again – and losing his "OK deal" that these BB Couples are always after.

Seany was the one who got evicted in the end – he kept saying that everything was cool and otherwise didn’t seem too surprised. Earlier he said to Jerry that he wanted to be a role model.

Needless to say, now he is out, some are saying he was not quite as he appeared in the house.

Who is going to win? Laura or Carole.
Who is out next – PLEASE – CHARLEY!

BB8: Week 3

Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:53 by Admin

Week 3:
The task that was set for the new boys, Seany and Gerry, was to nominate who would be up for eviction. A tricky task. In fact, it was decided by Big Brother that, they would need extra help from 2 more housemates. This naturally wiped the smile off some of the girls, such as Charley.

Big Brother thought that the best method to find the most suitable nominators was to conduct a board consisting of Gerry and Seany. Gerry looked and acted the part brilliantly, where as Seany was more casual, especially after being told earlier that a top he was wearing had some offensive language on it. The whole thing reminds me of an Interview I had once with a large radio station based in Birmingham!

Amanda went first and actually performed very well highlighting that she has not been involved in any of the arguments. Charley tried to show of her mindreading skills by saying she knew who had a
game plan and how she didn’t but, will win. No she won’t. Tracey, as well as explaining that she is suitable because she likes ‘having it hard’ when enjoying a good time, helpfully explained the phrase to Gerry. Seany also helped by clarifying the explanation back to Tracey.

In the end, Sam and Amanda were chosen, who, to be honest, seemed a very good, neutral choice! The look on Shabnam, Charley and Laura’s faces was brilliant!!!! Carole, Tracey and Shabnam became the nominees (the justifications for Carole and Tracey were pathetic).

The first person to be evicted, finally, was Shabnam. I cannot believe how long it took her to be evicted, saying how she ‘loved’ everyone. But she was not loved on coming out. She looked really silly standing there for over a minute, Davina had to come get her! She was not surprised as she ‘gets on everyone’s nerves.’

Once Shabnam was history, 4 new Housemates entered:

Liam: A tree surgeon who likes to relax and enjoy life, but thinks that he would be the first person people would ring up to go out with.

Jonathan: The founder of a very large Media Empire who likes to be competitive and considers himself clever, funny, fearless, and fat.

Brian: A clerk at a credit card company. He’s into Cosmic Ordering and Paul McKenna.

Billi: A model from Middlesex who is into WWF. Believes that he can win the show through the manipulation of others and is generally very egotistical.

Chanelle, with all the excitement manage to break her bra. She also commented, helpfully, that she thought that Brian ‘could’ be gay... in the same way that she ‘could’ win but unlikely silly cow! She also decided to pick on Laura after loosing her hair straighteners and telling Laura that she is the most two-faced person in the house.

After 30 minutes, Brian was explaining about how he worked for a credit card company, he then mentioned how he had a big credit card limit... wow! On Brian entering, Ziggy did a brilliant Jimmy Hill impression! Leading his lifestyle, he mentioned to the twins that on his birthday, he had a limousine they were amazed; they even thought it could have been pink!

The first task for the new housemates was to become the Big Brother Village People. Ooh Sailor!

BB8: Week 2

Wednesday, 13 June 2007 16:44 by Admin

Week 2

It seems to be that there are the two groups in the house and a few floaters. Firstly, the “Smokers”, who seem to be the younger and more impulsive group and is led by the very annoying Charley. The other group, the “Old ladies,” seem to be more relaxed group and led by Lesley. Since Ziggy came in, he has not had a clue where to be! Chanelle seems to be the answer. Over the week, they have gone from the task of dating right through to a full-on snog that occurred on Saturday in the toilet in a ‘Blind Spot’ which could be seen....and heard. Ziggy even looked to the camera thinking he was out of shot. Ha ha ha! On leaving, they changed the conversation to a pretend tour about the bathroom! How odd.

The night before was Ziggy’s potential worst nightmare with competition for him from two new guys Jerry and Seany. Jerry was the first to enter, a Greek with degree in History and Theory of Art and an MSC in classical archaeology and he is an assistant in a Gallery (pictures I think, not TV!). A nice enough person, he was cheered into the house. And yes, he is gay!

Seany is from Northern Ireland and appeared into the house in white jacket with a straw hat and was immediately referred to as a clown! He, of course, is gay too, only to limit the chances for the girls even further! Booed into the house, Seany works in Development (civil) and was proud to admit that he would meet “potential friends” on the tube and end up being “very friendly” with them within the hour!!! That being the trigger for the booing! He also admits that he does not use a towel to dry himself after a shower, he uses a hairdryer! The two new guys had to read a letter explaining that they and 2 others chosen by them will be nominating this week!

Earlier in the week, Emily made several big mistakes! After nominations, Emily went into the Diary room and was asked about how she felt. On leaving, she said “I’m up for eviction” causing Ziggy to apologise. She then boasted about how clever she was for tricking him into admitting who he had nominated. This talk of nomination resulted in someone else get punished! Ziggy and Emily chose Shabnam to be punished, who had made the bathroom out of bounds in the first week for discussing nominations, saying that she wanted to leave. With the bathroom being out of bounds, tension mounted, leading to an argument about hair straighteners. All they had to do was wait for the next morning, to see who needed the hair straighteners and then do each other’s hair in turn. However, Chanelle used it ahead of Emily in the queue, and then Laura suggested some people need it more than others i.e. Chanelle had short and naturally curly hair, where as Emily could wear her hair a number of ways. An argument started.

Shabnam’s punishment, delegated from Ziggy and Emily, was to loose all her clothes and make up for several days. Big Brother provided less stylish clothes!!

Emily’s most fatal move was later that night; she was with Charley and Nicky. While fooling about, Emily said “You pushing it out you ni**er,” referring to Charley’s pose in jest. Though not directly offended, this did seem to cause surprise to Nicky and Charley (who is probably the most outspoken troublemaker). For the next few hours, the subject kept coming up and though Charley said that it was “nothing” and Emily saying “we shouldn’t talk about it”, more and more girls were finding out and asking about it.

Later on, while she was asleep, Emily was called to the diary room, and asked to explain herself. She was read her rights and then given another chance to explain herself. She was evicted. Throughout, she was fidgeting and not looking her best!

I feel a little sorry for her, but they should know, by now, where the line of acceptability is surely?

Thanks to Seany’s little stunt, Lesley decided to leave. She had considered it the previous day and was told to sleep on it. This did not happen as she had her covers pulled off her and then was kept up by childish banter and play. Four hours later on Saturday, she left thanking Big Brother and was given the chance to say goodbye to her housemates. She was supportive to the other housemates and though she called Gerry “sweetie”, when Seany apologized, she told him that he did not mean it and people think that it is ok to behave unacceptably and then say sorry. So thanks to him, the best housemate is gone! Shame.

No eviction this week because of Emily being removed.

Who will win? Not sure  Laura? Who is out next ermmm...Charley.

BB8: Week 1

Tuesday, 5 June 2007 07:52 by Admin

Week1:
Once in the house, everyone has started bouncing about and putting on their fake faces but within a day that has been washed out and the real characters have settled in.

Laura seems to be capable of speaking when spoken to and is actually making for some quite interesting conversation whereas, Charley helpfully contributed in a discussion about terrorism that she had lots of opportunities coming her way and name dropped lots of footballers how on top of things she is! This was starting to become a last straw for the other housemates who are getting annoyed by Charley¹s attitude. This could be a power struggle.

Lesley seems to be acting the "Top Dog" but with challenge from Charley who, after pointing her out for using the Shower facilities to go to the toilet to the rest of the housemates, was saying how she was queen of the streets and a party animal. After the name dropping, she cried crocodile tears to get "support" for her clique saying that people think that she is a bitch!
However, Lesley is interesting as she has been hiding behind some white lies; including the Production Team told her to have the Single Bed and that she is 72. I don't know why. Now she has started suggesting that she wants to leave. Slept on it, said she wanted to leave and is sleeping on it for 2 days. Big Brother said that that was a very good plan.

Chanelle has shown a thoughtful side saying that the way Lesley was confronted was unfair (although funny). She has been associating with Shabnam and Charley both complimenting themselves. They have been hanging with Nicky all of whom seem to associate in the Smoking area as a little clique.

Within two days, a Gentleman called Ziggy has been added the day after the smoking club, including Emily, who were not afraid to shout out in the evening for a man and suggest that they were up for it, in a manner of speaking. On entrance, he was very polite and got to know the girls but within a day was to tell them that he would be nominating to which the girls have now all started Sucking up. His first challenge has been to have dinner to get to know them better. He seems to have a bit of a soft spot for Chanelle and Emily both of which are the more intelligent out of the youngsters. Emily was forthright with who she did not like to Ziggy this was speciffically Charley I would agree.

The twins, Sam and Amanda, have  been just giggling and making noises with Emily stating her thoughts especially with Charley's crowd.
Carole has been also getting on with Lesley and keeping her thoughts known including while in a meeting, chaired by Lesley, mentioning that the towls that she had washed had been taken and used and that it is not on. Ziggy also mentioned that he needs some space and that the girls are overpowering.
Tracy who wears no makeup and states her views, stated that she did not like Lesley chairing the meeting perhaps she should offer to then. Nicky had a Birthday. She had a party hat and party blower.  In the evening, she started saying how she was missing her friends all after being told that she is rather standoffish and now, rather tearful.

I think that Charley is treading thin ice, Currently, I am for Lesley or Chanelle to win.

BB8: What Eugene Thinks Of The New Housemates

Thursday, 31 May 2007 17:24 by Admin

It is that time again when the housemates come out to play. I, of course, went down to the Elstree Film and Television Studios to go to the start of BB8!

On arrival I was instantly mobbed by a number of fans wanting the usual pictures and autograph. This is cool except I could tell that security was having a job keeping the fairways clear ¬ sorry!

The rain earlier in the day disappeared to make way for a great evening to watch the new contestants go in.

So here they are:

1 & 2 Sam and Amanda
Twins and the youngest at just 18! They walked in wearing matching dresses and one with a lollipop. Once in the house, they got straight into the bath together after the initial shock of being in the house giggling away happily. I wonder how happy they will stay? They claim to be inseparable, however, if the finger of evictions points at one, I wonder how the other will survive?

3. Lesley.
This lady, whose picture shows here with the glasses on the end of her nose, is a retired writer. She was educated at Cambridge and likes to keep active and does not like under-achievers. She said that she would be an interesting person in the house. Seems to like her pursuits such as golf and no doubt will be interesting viewing with lots to say but how will she cope with the youngsters. Perplexed initially by Sam and Amanda, she said they were Beautiful but sarcastically acknowledged they were twins. Once 10 were in, she counted them out to herself amusingly.

4. Charley
Charley is an unemployed girl from South London. She loves Money and living the high-life. Moreover, she seems to love herself more! Seems to try to show loads of "attitude" and was pulling attitude faces which was enough to start the crowd booing her to chants of "Get a Job". Could be quite confrontational.

5. Tracy
Tracy is a Cleaner. A bit hyper and likes the prodigy. She turned up with pink (or purple) hair has apparently never used make-up (well, not today). Definitely One of the lads and hyper to the point of irritation she seems to be a very genuine person and may have a lot to contribute. Reminds me of Sid Vicious. Or a female version

6. Chanelle
Chanelle Models herself on Victoria Beckham and seemed a bit full of herself! She is from Yorkshire and works in a bank, though she is also a student. Thinks she is a model and was doing the whole catwalk thing in front of the press!

7. Shabnam
Shabnam appeared to a crowd cheering. She likes makeup a lot and was not afraid to admit that she has hundreds of lipsticks. Likes to dress unusual and have colours that clash. Both listens to music and reads on the toilet. She described herself as selfish and she always likes to have the last word. I'd like to see her have the last word against the others.

8. Emily
Emily is a drama student and she talks slightly posh considering herself to be a bit of an intellectual (in fact she rated herself 10/10 on intelligence! how objective). She is into indie music and would like there to be some Lads in the house who are rockers. Being a boff(yeah- right), she wants to make the house intellectual.

9. Laura
Laura a nanny. Welsh. Into talking and gossip. Loves cooking. I commented that she looks a bit like Daffyd Thomas in little Britain. I am sure she is a nice person, but I wonder how much she will provide entertainment hmmm.

10 Nikky.
This girl seems to think she knows what she wants and who she is. She is Indian but adopted into Indian Irish family. She claims that she is mis-understood and wants to use the show to show who she really is. She does not like men and wore interesting blue eyeliner. Her Job is in the Fiscal profession. With 2 banking types, I expect the Shopping list to be a walk!

Finally

11 Carole.
This lady is a sexual health worker. Who likes to get up and out and do stuff.  She likes to attend lots of protests and rallies for what she believes in. She also, like Lesley, has strong views and is very outspoken and opinionated. On coming in everyone cheered, especially when she said that she expects everyone to contribute and pull their weight. I totally agree. Only one thing, should have gone to specsavers!

The new house looks "confusing" with kitchen appliances spread throughout the house (oven in the bedroom and basin the other end of the living area). This should keep the housemates working and having to tolerate each other. The "bathroom" s very big with nice showers, however, the bath is, of course in the living area again. Perhaps this is for the confident housemates to show themselves off (we had a tin one, so what they moaning about).

On arriving, the house looks like it may have been slightly extended, but this may be just more camera space (the cameras "run" about a corridor round the outer of the house). Though I think that there are more rooms and cavities than ever before.

The diary room looks great with a large clear chair with neon (fluorescent) lamps in it, looks like a pop video.

Obviously, when I turned up in the audience, Davina spotted me!!!
